Shortcut ⌘⇧8 Not Working
If pressing Command + Shift + 8 doesn't do anything, another app might be conflicting with this shortcut.
1. Check App State
Ensure TextClipper is actually running. Look for the TextClipper icon in your menu bar (top right of screen).
2. Change the Shortcut
You can customize the capture hotkey to something unique:
- Click the menu bar icon > Preferences (or Settings).
- Go to the Shortcuts tab.
- Click the red "Record Shortcut" button.
- Press your desired new combination (e.g.,
Control + Option + Command + S).
3. Check System Conflicts
Some macOS system shortcuts might override app shortcuts. Go to System Settings >
Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts and ensure no system function is mapped to
⌘⇧8.
Specific to CleanShot X or Shottr: If you use other screenshot tools, they
might be listening for similar keys. Try quitting them temporarily to test if TextClipper works.
