Welcome to TextClipper! This guide will help you get the application up and running on your Mac.

System Requirements

TextClipper is built exclusively for macOS to take advantage of native Apple Silicon performance and privacy features.

  • OS: macOS Sonoma (14.0) or newer.
  • Processor: Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4) is highly recommended for fastest OCR performance. Intel Macs are supported but may experience slightly slower recognition speeds.
  • Space: Approximately 150MB of disk space.

How to Install

  1. Download the latest version of TextClipper from our home page.
  2. Locate the TextClipper.dmg file in your Downloads folder and double-click to open it.
  3. Drag the TextClipper icon into the Applications folder shortcut provided in the window.
  4. Eject the disk image and launch TextClipper from your Applications folder or via Spotlight.
Note: On first launch, macOS may ask you to confirm that you want to open an app downloaded from the internet. Click Open to proceed.

Updating TextClipper

TextClipper checks for updates automatically on launch. If a new version is available, you will see a prompt to download and install it. We recommend always running the latest version to get the newest OCR models and performance improvements.
