By downloading or using TextClipper, you agree to the terms outlined below. These terms are designed to ensure transparency and protect both you and the TextClipper team.

1. Acceptance of Terms

TextClipper ("we," "us," or "our") provides the TextClipper desktop application and related services to you subject to the following Terms of Service ("Terms"). By downloading, installing, or using the application, you accept these Terms in full. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the application.

2. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the TextClipper application on macOS devices that you own or control, solely for your personal or internal business purposes.

You may not rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense the application. You may not copy (except as expressly permitted by this license), decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, attempt to derive the source code of, modify, or create derivative works of the application.

3. Use of Optional Cloud Services

TextClipper operates primarily on-device. However, certain advanced features allow you to connect with third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI or Google Gemini) using your own API keys.

  • You are responsible for obtaining and maintaining your own API keys and accounts with these providers.
  • Acceptance of these Terms includes acknowledgement that your use of third-party models is subject to the respective terms and privacy policies of those providers.
  • We are not responsible for any costs, availability issues, or data handling practices associated with these third-party services.

4. Beta Software Disclaimer

Please note that TextClipper is currently in public beta. The software is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of any kind.

You acknowledge that the software may contain bugs, errors, or other problems that could cause system or other failures and data loss. We do not warrant that the operation of the software will be uninterrupted or error-free.

5. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE TEXTCLIPPER TEAM BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF BUSINESS PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF BUSINESS INFORMATION, OR ANY OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APPLICATION.

6. Termination

This license is effective until terminated by you or us. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically without notice from us if you fail to comply with any term(s) of this license. Upon termination of the license, you shall cease all use of the Application, and destroy all copies, full or partial, of the Application.
