Granting Permissions

To capture text from your screen, TextClipper requires specific macOS permissions.

Screen Recording Permission

On your first capture attempt, macOS will show a system prompt asking to "Record this computer's screen."

  1. Click Open System Settings in the dialog box.
  2. Navigate to Privacy & Security > Screen Recording.
  3. Find TextClipper in the list and toggle the switch to ON.
  4. Restart TextClipper for the changes to take effect.
Privacy Note: TextClipper only "records" the screen for the split-second you trigger a capture. It does not continuously record your screen or transmit these images.

Accessibility Permission (Optional)

Some advanced features, like pasting text directly back into other apps or automating clicks, may require Accessibility permissions. If prompted:

  1. Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.
  2. Enable the toggle next to TextClipper.
