Scanning QR Codes & Barcodes
TextClipper isn't just for text. It identifies and decodes QR codes and standard barcodes instantly.
How to Scan
- Activate TextClipper (
⌘⇧8) as usual. - Draw a box around the QR code or barcode on your screen.
- TextClipper will detect the code and automatically copy its contents (URL, serial number, etc.) to your clipboard.
Supported Formats
We support a wide range of formats natively via macOS Vision frameworks:
- QR Codes: Standard URLs, WiFi credentials, contact cards.
- Barcodes: UPC-E, Code 39, Code 128, EAN-8/13, PDF417, and Aztec.
Tip: If the QR code is small or blurry, try increasing the size of the QR code
on your screen slightly (Cmd+) before capturing.
