"No Text Found" Errors

Occasionally, you might see a "No Text Found" notification after a capture. Here are common reasons and fixes.

1. Image Quality / Size

If the text is incredibly small, pixelated, or low contrast (e.g., dark grey text on black), the OCR engine might struggle.

  • Fix: Zoom in on the content (⌘+ in your browser) to make the text larger and clearer before capturing.

2. Complex Backgrounds

Text overlaid on busy images or with heavy transparency effects can be hard to isolate.

  • Fix: Try to capture a slightly larger area to give the AI more context, or switch to a "High Accuracy" mode if available in settings.

3. Language Support

TextClipper supports 8 languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese). If you are capturing a language not on this list, it may fail or produce gibberish.

  • Fix: Ensure the source material is in a supported language.
Still happening? If you get this error on perfectly clear text, restart the app to clear the OCR engine cache.
